Adding Components

You add blocks through the Insert menu, not by dragging. Insert lets you search for any component and choose exactly where it goes.

Open the Insert menu

Click the Insert button (the one with the plus sign), or press /. A search panel opens.

Find a component

Start typing to search, or browse the list. Components are grouped into the same categories you see in the Components reference: Layouts, Building Blocks, Pre Built, and From The Web. Components marked PRO are available on paid plans.

Choose where it goes

Before you pick a component, set the placement using the dropdown at the top of the Insert menu. The options depend on what you currently have selected on the canvas:

At end of page
Adds the block to the very bottom of the page. This is the default when nothing is selected.
After [block]
Adds the block right after the block you have selected.
Inside [layout]
Adds the block inside the selected Container or Grid. This option only appears when a layout block is selected.

Pick your placement, then click a component. It is added to the page and selected for you, ready to style.

Building nested sections

To put something inside a Container, select that Container first, then open Insert and choose "Inside". This is how you build layered sections like a hero. See Making a Fashion Page for a worked example.

What next

Once a block is on the page, use its action bar to reorder, copy, or nest it. See Moving Components Around.
